Keep your eyes on the stars but your feet on the ground.

My name is Stephanie. I am a UX Designer, lifelong learner, caregiver, and Army Veteran. The variety of my background and former experience allows me the ability to empathize with anyone in any situation, regardless of who they are. My passion for UX Designing revolves around the empathy-based research that goes into creating the designs. With a main focus being the user and keeping the underrepresented and excluded groups in mind, it leads to a more equity-driven technology thus leading to a better world altogether. UX Designing provides the ability to change the world!

Resume

For my capstone project, I developed an app and webpage to aid homeless people in a profound way. I discovered food assistance was only part of their needs; deeper issues were evident through research.

Designing for Social Good Project

App and Website for buying and selling children’s clothes

After conducting research to assess what needs were not being met by current apps and websites, it become clear that the number one way of creating a better user experience would be to cut the unnecessary form-based inputs.

Designing from the app to website

The Closet App was originally designed for the App on a phone because that is the smallest screen and held the most users. I then went on to create the website for it.

The Oak Tree

A mighty wind blew night and day.

It stole the oak tree’s leaves away.

Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark

Until the oak was tired and stark.

But still the oak tree held its ground

While other trees fell all around.

The weary wind gave up and spoke,

“How can you still be standing, Oak?”

The oak tree said, “I know that you

Can break each of mine in two,

Carry every leaf away,

Shake my limbs, and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,

Growing stronger since my birth.

You’ll never touch them, for you see,

They are the deepest part of me.

Until today, I wasn’t sure

Of just how much I could endure.

But now I’ve found, with thanks to you,

I’m stronger than I ever knew.”
